The Narrow, a South African rock band, was formed in 2002 in Pretoria by guitarists Emile de Jong and Sid, bassist Jow Feldtmann, drummer Nelius de Lange, and vocalist Hanu de Jong. Their debut album Self Conscious was released in 2003, earning critical acclaim and a South African Music Awards (SAMA) nomination. Shortly after its release, founding guitarist Sid left the band and was replaced by Deon Kruger. In 2004, The Narrow released their follow-up album Travellers, which earned them another SAMA nomination and featured the popular single "Lonely-Lonely". After a brief hiatus in 2007, the band returned to release You Don't Get to Quit in 2010, earning their third SAMA nomination.
