Biography

Initially formed by singer and guitarist Lia Metcalfe – daughter of Sound of Guns' lead singer Andrew Metcalfe – bassist George Favager, and drummer Zak McDonnell, British alt-rockers The Mysterines assembled in Liverpool, UK in 2014 and looked to the likes of Nirvana, Hole, and Royal Blood for inspiration. A line-up change saw Zak McDonnell swapped for Chrissy Moore the following year and the band unleashed their debut EP, Take Control, in 2019. A second EP, Love's Not Enough, followed in 2020, with Chrissy Moore then quitting the band to be replaced by Paul Crilly. A second guitarist, Callum Thompson, was welcomed into the fold, and the band used the spare time afforded to them during the COVID-19 pandemic to work on their debut album. Their Catherine Marks-produced debut album Reeling was released in March 2022 through Fiction Records and went to Number 9 on the UK Albums Chart.
