The Mom and Dads, a Western-styled folk music group from Spokane, Washington, formed in the early 1960s. The quartet consisted of Doris A. Crow on piano, Quentin Ratliff on saxophone, Leslie Welch on accordion, and Harold Hendren on drums. Their breakthrough came with "The Rangers Waltz" (1971), which reached number 4 on the American Top 10 country music charts and achieved double-platinum sales. They released several albums, including In the Blue Canadian Rockies (1972) and Merry Christmas With the Mom and Dads (1972). In 1974, they toured Australia. Notable singles included "Wabash Cannonball" (1972) and "Jingle Bell Rock" (1972). Welch's death in 1983 led to the band's eventual disbandment.
