Biography

Franz Lambert, born in 1948 in Heppenheim, Germany, is a composer and organist. As a teenager, he studied piano at the conservatory for four years. At age 16, Lambert performed publicly for the first time at his parents' restaurant "Zum Felsenkeller" in Sonderbach on a Hammond organ. His breakthrough came in 1969 when he appeared on the TV show Zum Blauen Bock, leading to his first record deal. Lambert's career includes notable compositions such as the official "FIFA Hymne" from the album For You, used since the 1994 FIFA World Cup, and other titles like "Lady in Blue" and "Begegnungen". He received a Goldene Schallplatte in Germany in 1979 for his album Pop Orgel Hitparade 40 Super Hits.
