Alfredo Antonio Carlo Buongusto, known professionally as Fred Bongusto, and born on April 6, 1935, in Campobasso, Italy, was a singer-songwriter and record producer. He began his music career as a singer while still a student, performing with the group I 4 Loris. Bongusto's early career included appearances in musicarelli films such as Obiettivo ragazze (1963) and Questi pazzi, pazzi italiani (1965). He released his debut album Fred Bongusto in 1963. Subsequent albums include Le Canzoni di Fred Bongusto (1964), Malizia (1973), and Doppio Whisky (1974). His later albums include E lo Le Canto Accussi (1997) and Il Tigre (2013). Bongusto passed away on November 8, 2019, in Rome.
