Missing Persons is an American rock band founded in 1980 in Los Angeles by vocalist Dale Bozzio, guitarist Warren Cuccurullo, and drummer Terry Bozzio. They later added bassist Patrick O'Hearn and keyboardist Chuck Wild. The band's early years saw them release a self-titled four-song EP in 1980, which included the hit "Mental Hopscotch" that topped local radio station KROQ-FM. In 1982, they signed with Capitol Records, re-releasing their EP and achieving significant success with the single "Words", which reached number 42 on the Billboard Hot 100. Their debut full-length album Spring Session M was released in the same year, featuring hits like "Destination Unknown" and "Walking in L.A.". The band's experimental follow-up, Rhyme & Reason, in 1984, did not achieve the same commercial success. In 1986, they released their final album, Color in Your Life, before disbanding due to internal tensions. Missing Persons reunited briefly in 2001 and again in 2009 for tours and promotional activities. Their music continues to be celebrated, with compilations like The Best Of Missing Persons (released in 1987) and live albums such as Live From The Danger Zone (released in 2008).
