Biography
The Mint Juleps is an English a cappella and pop group from London formed in 1985. The band consists of sisters Sandra, Debbie, Lizzie, and Marcia Charles, who were joined by Julie Isaac and Debbie Longworth. Before signing to Stiff Records, the group toured with Sister Sledge and Kool & the Gang and performed back-up vocals for Bob Geldof and Peter Gabriel. Their debut album, One Time (1985), was followed by the singles âOnly Love Can Break Your Heartâ (1986), which reached number 62 on the UK charts, and âEvery Kinda Peopleâ (1987), which reached number 58. The ensemble appeared in the television special Billy's Christmas Angels (1988) and the documentary Do It Acapella (1990). Their recordings include the album Round Our Way (1994) and vocal contributions to the Mickey Hart album Mystery Box (1996).
