Biography

The Little Ones, a Los Angeles‑based indie pop group formed in 2006, consisted of members including Ed Reyes and Ian Moreno who previously played in Sunday’s Best. Their early sound, characterized by tambourines and handclaps, drew comparisons to 1960s pop bands and the modern Shins. The band’s breakthrough came with the release of the Sing Song EP on Astralwerks Records in 2007, followed by the single "Oh MJ!" in January 2007, which entered the UK Singles Chart at number 100 and received airplay on KEXP. In July 2008, The Little Ones released their debut full‑length album Morning Tide through Heavenly Recordings; the title track entered the UK Singles Chart at number 98. Subsequent singles included "Ordinary Song" and "Tangerine Visions" in 2008. The group continued with the 2013 release of The Dawn Sang Along, supported by a promotional tour that included performances at SXSW and a UK arena tour with Kaiser Chiefs. Throughout their career, The Little Ones garnered critical attention, with "Argonauts" featured in a 2013 Citibank advertisement and "Oh MJ!" highlighted by NPR’s John Richards as a standout pop track. The band remains active in the indie scene, with their catalog reflecting a consistent output of melodic, guitar‑driven pop rooted in 1960s songwriting traditions.
