Biography

With The KLF, Jimmy Cauty and Bill Drummond formed one of the leading groups of the acid house movement, and were precursors of the electro dance movement. They first formed The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu in 1986, and at the time were best known on the rave circuit. Becoming The KLF in 1988, the duo released the album Chill Out in 1990. In a frenzy, The KLF went on to rock the charts with their techno hits "What Time Is Love", "3 A.M. Eternal", which reached No. 1 dance in the U.S., and "Last Train Trancentral ". Released in March 1991, the album The White Room became a benchmark in electronic music, inspiring many future DJs to follow in their footsteps. Having made their mark, The KLF disappeared from the scene in 1992, only to reappear briefly in 1995 and 1997, but without recording anything of note.
