The Jet Black's, an instrumental rock band from São Paulo, Brazil, was formed in 1961 as The Vampires by Joe Primo and Bobby de Carlo. The group initially released singles such as "Apache" / "Kon-Tiki" and changed their name to The Jet Black's in 1963. They signed with Chantecler Records, releasing albums like Twist and The Jet Black's Again. Throughout the 1960s, they became one of the most requested backing bands for concerts and recordings by performers such as Celly Campelo and Roberto Carlos. In 1965, they released a version of "Theme for Young Lovers", which became their biggest success. The band's last studio album recorded in the 1960s was Sempre, marking a shift from rock and roll to rock pop. They resumed activities in the early 1980s with the release of Riders Again and continued to perform until Jurandi Trindade's death on July 13, 2004.
