Biography

The House of Usher, a German gothic rock band, was founded in 1990 by Jörg Kleudgen and Markus Pick. Named after Edgar Allan Poe's novella The Fall of the House of Usher, they held their first concerts in early 1992. Their debut split-EP Relic was released independently in 1993, followed by the mini-album Black Sunday. The band's debut album, Stars Fall Down, came out in 1994, leading to a tour in Italy. In 1996, they released the album Zephyre. Throughout their career, The House of Usher underwent several lineup changes. Their discography includes notable albums such as Cosmogenesis (1999) and Inferno/L’enfer (2002). The band continued to release music through the 2000s, with albums like Angst (2009), Pandora's Box (2011), and Roaring Silence (At the End of the World) (2018).
