Biography

The Hot Puppies were a Welsh band formed in Aberystwyth in December 2000. The lineup included Becky Wood on vocals, Beth Gibson on keyboards and theremin, Luke Taylor on guitar, Ben Faircloth on bass guitar, and Bert Wood on drums. They released two self-released EPs in 2002 and gained exposure playing on a BBC Radio 1 live bill in 2003. Their debut single "The Drowning Nymph" was released the same year. In 2005, they signed to Fierce Panda Records after releasing the single "Terry". Their first album Under The Crooked Moon followed in July 2006 and included the singles "Green Eyeliner" and "The Girl Who Was Too Beautiful". They released their third and final album Blue Hands in September 2008, featuring the singles "Clarinet Town" and "The Word On The Street". The band went on hiatus in spring 2008 and never reformed.
