The Holdup, an American reggae fusion band from San Jose, California, formed in 2006. The initial lineup included vocalist Mike Garmany, drummer Danny Flores, guitarist Tyler Scurti, bassist Kyle Christensen and DJ/band manager Clev Stiles. Their first EP sold out quickly in 2008, leading to a signing with local independent label Dub Rock and the release of their debut album Stay Gold, which debuted at #1 on the iTunes Reggae Charts. The Holdup continued their success with subsequent albums including Confidence (2010), which earned them the iTunes "Best New Reggae Artist of 2010" award, and Still Gold (2011). Notable songs from these albums include "Faster" and "Young Fools". The band released several more albums, including Consequence (2012), Leaves in the Pool (2016), and Killing Time (2019). Their final release was an acoustic greatest hits and live album titled The Farewell Show in 2020.
