Biography

The Helio Sequence was an American indie rock duo from Beaverton, Oregon, formed in 1999. The group consisted of vocalist Brandon Summers and drummer Benjamin Weikel. They released the debut EP Accelerated Slow Motion Cinema in 1999, followed by the studio albums Com Plex (2000) and Young Effectuals (2001). Summers and Weikel signed with Sub Pop for their third studio album, Love and Distance, in 2004. During this period, Weikel also recorded drums for the Modest Mouse album Good News for People Who Love Bad News. Following a period where Summers relearned to sing after damaging his vocal cords, the band released Keep Your Eyes Ahead in 2008. Their subsequent discography included the albums Negotiations (2012) and the self-titled The Helio Sequence (2015). The duo performed as support for Keane in the United States and Great Britain in 2009 and 2010. They also toured with Menomena in 2013 and The Church in 2017.
