The Ga Ga's were a United Kingdom alternative rock group formed in 2002 by Tommy Gleeson, who served as lead guitarist and vocalist. Their early exposure came through local gigs and self-released singles that gained traction in the UK indie scene. In 2005 the band released the studio album Tonight The Midway Shines, followed by the single âSexâ on 31 January 2005, and later that year released the single âLeft of Centreâ. The group toured across the UK and Europe, sharing stages with acts such as Velvet Revolver, Biffy Clyro, and The Wildhearts. In June 2006 the band announced its dissolution, after which three members formed Slaves to Gravity. The Ga Ga's were nominated for a Kerrang! Award for Best British Newcomer in 2005, a recognition that their successor group would later win in 2008.
