The Foremen (formed 1990, in Los Angeles) was an American satirical folk ensemble. Founded by Roy Zimmerman, the original lineup included Doug Whitney, Andy Corwin, and Kenny Rhodes. The group established a reputation for politically charged lyrics mocking figures such as Rush Limbaugh. The recording career began with the live album Sing it Loud! (1994) on Metaphor Records,. After being heard at a party by Jim Ed Norman, the ensemble signed with Reprise Records. The discography featured the studio albums Folk Heroes (1995) and What's Left? (1996). In 1995, the group released the single "Ain't No Liberal", which featured Phil Gramm on the cover and was promoted to 1996 US Presidential candidates. In 1996, the ensemble performed the song "Ollie, Ollie, Off Scot Free" on Oliver North's radio show. Zimmerman left the group in 1997 and was replaced by Lance Guest before the ensemble became inactive.
