Biography
The Flowers of Hell, a transatlantic experimental orchestra, was formed in 2002 by Greg Jarvis. The group initially gained traction through covermount CDs distributed with UK newspapers and magazines. In 2005, Jarvis expanded the project into a live act based in London. Their first studio album, The Flowers Of Hell, was released in 2006. The second album, Come Hell Or High Water (2009), featured collaborations with notable musicians such as Peter âSonic Boomâ Kember of Spacemen 3 and Will Carruthers of Spiritualized. Their unique sound, blending classical music with post-rock, shoegaze, space rock, and drone music, has been praised by figures like Lou Reed and Kevin Shields of My Bloody Valentine. In 2010, they released Live At The Music Gallery. Throughout their career, The Flowers of Hell have performed at prestigious venues such as the Tate Britain and the Moscow Conservatory.
