The Faint, an American indie rock band from Omaha, Nebraska, was formed in 1995. The original lineup included Clark Baechle, Todd Fink, and Joel Petersen. Initially known as Norman Bailer, the band featured Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes before he left shortly after their formation. Their early releases on Saddle Creek Records did not achieve widespread success. In 1999, they released Blank-Wave Arcade, which gained underground popularity due to its dance influences. This was followed by Danse Macabre (2001) and Wet from Birth (2004). In 2008, the band left Saddle Creek Records and self-released their fifth studio album, Fasciinatiion, under their own label blank.wav. Notable singles include "I Disappear" and "Desperate Guys". The Faint performed on the children's show Yo Gabba Gabba! in 2010. In 2016, Graham Ulicny replaced Jacob Thiele on keyboards; Thiele died in 2020.
