Biography
The El Dorados were an American doo-wop group that formed in 1952 in Chicago. Originally known as Pirkle Lee and the Five Stars, they signed with Vee-Jay Records in 1954. They achieved a professional breakthrough in 1955 with the single âAt My Front Doorâ, which reached Number 1 on the US Billboard R&B chart and number 17 on the pop chart. Their discography includes the follow-up âI'll Be Forever Loving Youâ (1956), which reached the R&B top 10. Following the death of the lead vocalist Pirkle Lee Moses Jr. in 2000, the member Norman Palm took over leadership and the ensemble began performing as Pirkle Lee Moses Jr's El Dorados.
