Biography

The Disciplines were a Norwegian garage rock group originating from Oslo, formed in 2005, featuring Ken Stringfellow, formerly of The Posies, R.E.M., and Big Star. Other members include Alexander Vilnes, Baard Helgeland, and Bjorn Bergene. Their initial breakthrough came with the 2007 single, "There's a Law" / "Oslo", after which they released their debut album, Smoking Kills, in 2008. They followed this with their second album, Virgins of Menace, in 2011. In 2019, the group faced a legal challenge over the similarity of their name to another band.
