Biography
The Deep Freeze Mice were a British new wave band based in Leicester, England. Active between 1979 and 1989, the core members included Alan Jenkins on guitars and vocals, Sherree Lawrence on keyboards, and Mick Bunnage on bass guitar. The band released their debut album My Geraniums Are Bulletproof (1979) under Mole Embalming Records, followed by Teenage Head In My Refrigerator (1981). They later shifted to Cordelia Records, releasing notable albums such as War, Famine, Death, Pestilence and Miss Timberlake and Rain is When the Earth is Television, both in 1987. The band's music featured absurd lyrics delivered in Jenkins' deadpan voice. The Deep Freeze Mice disbanded in 1989 following the release of The Tender Yellow Ponies of Insomnia. The compilation album The Best of the Deep Freeze Mice was released in 2014.
