Biography
The Clint Boon Experience, formed in 1998 by former Inspiral Carpets keyboardist Clint Boon in England, emerged from the dissolution of Inspiral Carpets in the midâ1990s. After establishing the group, Clint Boon, who handled keyboards and lead vocals, released the debut single "Only One Way I Can Go" on 17â¯Augustâ¯1998, followed in 1999 by chart breakthrough "White No Sugar" on 23â¯Novemberâ¯1998; both releases introduced the bandâs blend of UK alternative rock and quirky pop. In 1999 the band issued the fullâlength The Compact Guide To Pop Music & Space Travel, produced under the independent label Artful Records, and the single "Comet Theme No.â¯1" on 19â¯Aprilâ¯1999, which helped secure a spot on the UK Singles Chart. That same year, the group supported Travis in Belfast and later headlined in Februaryâ¯2000. Also in 1999, they released the singles "You Can't Keep A Good Man Down" and "Do What You Do (Earworm Song)" featuring Fran Healy, which peaked at Number 63. Second album Life In Transition was released in 2000. The Clint Boon Experience continued to tour and promote the single "Biggest Horizon" in 2000, which entered the UK chart at Number 70, followed by "Do What You Do (Earworm Song)". The group disbanded after that.
