The Burning Hell is a Canadian indie rock and folk rock band formed in 2006 by Mathias Kom. Their lineup fluctuated initially, with Kom collaborating with various musicians. Their first album, Tick Tock (2006), was followed by releases like Happy Birthday (2008) and Baby (2009). In 2011, a consistent touring and recording lineup emerged, featuring Kom on guitar and vocals, Ariel Sharratt on clarinet, Darren Browne on guitar, Nick Ferrio on bass, and Jake Nicoll on drums. They are known for their literate songwriting and dynamic live performances. Other notable albums include Flux Capacitor (2011), People (2013), Public Library (2016), Revival Beach (2017), and Garbage Island (2022). Kom and Sharratt co-founded the Lawnya Vawnya Festival in St. John's, Newfoundland, in 2011. They toured extensively across Europe, North America, and Australia.
