Biography

The Brandos, a rock band from New York City, were formed in 1985 by Dave Kincaid (vocals, guitar), Ernie Mendillo (bass, vocals), Ed Rupprecht (guitar, vocals) and Larry Mason (drums, vocals). The group achieved commercial success with their debut album Honor Among Thieves released in 1987. The album peaked at number 108 on the Billboard charts and featured the single "Gettysburg". In early 1988, the band won Best Album (Independent Label) and Kincaid was honored with Best Male Vocalist (Independent Label) at the New York Music Awards. After signing with Geffen Records in 1988 and RCA Records in 1989, the Brandos released Gunfire at Midnight in 1992 through SPV GmbH in Germany. Following extensive touring in Europe, Rupprecht and Mason left the band in 1993.
