Biography
The Black Pine, an American alternative rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1999. The group initially consisted of Mitch Cichocki (guitar, lead vocals), Jason Bacher (bass guitar), and Emma Kathan (drums, guitar, vocals). Their first performance took place in 2000 at Spaceland, a Los Angeles club. In summer 2002, The Black Pine released their debut EP, The Sexlife of Flowers. They collaborated with actor/director Adam Goldberg to score his films Running with the Bulls (2003) and I Love Your Work (2005). Their second album, With Us, was released in 2006. Notable songs from this album include "Early Morning" and "Focus 6", which were featured in the film Under Still Waters. Subsequent albums include Still Life (2008), The Morning Sun (2012), Clearer Waves (2016), and Stay Lost Forever (2024).
