The Black Belles are an American garage rock ensemble from Nashville, Tennessee, formed in 2009. The group was established by Olivia Jean, Ruby Rogers, Shelby Lynne, and Lil' Boo, also known as Tina NoGood. They achieved professional recognition after being discovered by Jack White and signing with Third Man Records. Their recording career began with the tracks âWhat Can I Do?â (2010) and âLiesâ (2010). They released the debut studio recording The Black Belles (2011). The ensemble achieved professional recognition for the track âCharlene II (I'm Over You)â (2011), performed with Stephen Colbert on the television program The Colbert Report. The track âWhat Can I Do?â was used as the theme for the television show Elvira's Movie Macabre. The ensemble became inactive in 2012.
