The Bitter Springs, an English rock group from Teddington, London, formed in 1985 as Last Party. The group's origins trace back to No Trains At The Bay, a school band that featured future members of The Bitter Springs. In 1986, they released their debut album Porkyâs Range under the Harvey label and supported notable acts such as The Sound and The Stone Roses. The band changed their name to The Bitter Springs in 1995 with the release of the EP The Addison Brothers in 1996. Notable releases include "Absence Makes the Hair Grow Blonder" (1997) and "It's Business" (1997), along with the album Benny Hillâs Wardrobe (1999), which received critical acclaim, including being named album of the month in MOJO. They also released several albums, including The Sentimental Slush (2006), Everyone's Cup of Tea (2012), and Cuttlefish and Love's Remains (2015).
