Biography
The Bennies was an Australian ska punk band originally from Melbourne, Victoria. They formed in 2009 under the name Madonna and released a self-titled demo collection in 2010 before changing their name due to legal issues. Their debut album, Party! Party! Party!, was released on September 3, 2011, via Jackknife Music. In 2013, they released the EP Better Off Dread and their second studio album, Rainbows in Space. Their third studio album, Wisdom Machine, was released on March 25, 2016, and included the singles "Legalise (But Don't Tax)" and "Corruption". They released the album Natural Born Chillers on February 2, 2018. In June 2022, several members left the band, leading to a new lineup announced in November 2022 that included Ollie Roots, Nick Thunder, and Marco Foxlee. Their fifth album, You Can't Put Out This Fire, was released in April 2025.
