Biography

The Beau Hunks are a Dutch revivalist music ensemble from Amsterdam formed in 1992. Led by bandleader Gert-Jan Blom, the group performs reconstructions of 1930s soundtrack themes from Hal Roach film studio comedies. They performed their first public concert in 1992 at the Oliver Hardy centennial in Amsterdam. Their recording career includes the studio albums The Beau Hunks Play the Original Laurel & Hardy Music (1992) and The Beau Hunks Play the Little Rascals Music (1995). They collaborated with the Metropole Orchestra to reconstruct the score for the film Our Relations (2000). Their discography includes the recordings Celebration on the Planet Mars: A Tribute to Raymond Scott (1994) and Edward McDowell's Woodland Sketches (1997).
