Biography

The Barracudas, an English rock band, formed in late 1978. The original lineup consisted of Jeremy Gluck on vocals, Robin Wills on guitar and vocals, Starkie Phillips on bass and vocals, and Adam Phillips on drums. Before recording their first single, Starkie and Adam Phillips left the band. The Barracudas gained initial recognition with their 1980 hit single "Summer Fun", which featured an excerpt from a 1960s advertisement for the Plymouth Barracuda campaign and reached number 37 on the UK Singles Chart. Their debut album, Drop Out With The Barracudas, was released in February 1981. The band's energetic live performances were notable, but they officially disbanded in 1984 after their final performance in Madrid. Following a hiatus, the band reformed briefly in 1989 to record "Wait For Everything" playing together briefly again in 2003. Throughout their career, The Barracudas were known for their garage rock sound. They released several notable singles, including "I Want My Woody Back", "His Last Summer" and "Inside Mind". Their live album, Live '83, captured their energetic performances from that year.
