Biography
Formed in January 2021, The Barnestormers is a rockabilly supergroup led by Australian music legend Jimmy Barnes (vocals), along with Chris Cheney (guitar) from The Living End and Slim Jim Phantom (drums) of Stray Cats. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the trio managed to lay down a mix of original tracks and covers and in February 2023, Barnes announced the addition of two more members, renowned musicians Kevin Shirley (bass) and Jools Holland (piano) with the band releasing their electrifying first single in March, a cover of Don Walker's "Johnny's Gone," to rave reviews, followed by Johnny O'Keefeâs âReal Wild Child,â seeing self-titled album The Barnestormers make its debut at number 3 on the ARIA charts on May 26.
