Alison Pipitone, born in 1965 in the United States, is an American rock 'n' roll singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Inspired by artists including The Clash, Etta James, the Pretenders, and Dolly Parton, she began playing guitar at age 18. Pipitone's professional career began in Los Angeles in the late 1980s, playing rhythm guitar in the band The Monas. In 1995, she released her debut solo album Life in the First Person. She wrote and performed the song "Dynamite" for the soundtrack of the motion picture All Over Me (1997). The Alison Pipitone Band made its debut in 2006 with the album Tiger Babies, followed by Me and Miss Grimes (2009) and Big Wide World (2013). She became a fixture on the Buffalo music scene, earning the Buffalo Music Award for Top Original Female Vocalist nine times. Pipitone was inducted into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame in 2017.
