Biography

That'll Be the Day, a British touring rock ’n’ roll variety show created by Trevor Payne in 1986, evolved from a seasonal holiday resort production into a national attraction. Trevor Payne wrote, directed, produced and performed in the show, which became a weekly act at Butlins Minehead in 1988, added a Christmas edition in 1989, and debuted on stage at the Marlowe Theatre in 1994; by 1995 it had secured five London Palladium appearances. The 2016 30th‑anniversary gala at the London Palladium marked five million patrons, while the 2018 charity single "Make‑a‑Wish Come True"-recorded at Abbey Road Studios-was released for the Make‑A‑Wish Foundation. Other releases include Live in 2000, Live in 2003, The 2017-2018 Tour, and the single "Dark Horse" (2002), a tribute to George Harrison. In 2026, the band released the album Make a Wish Come True.
