Thalles Roberto, born Thalles Roberto da Silva in Passos, Minas Gerais, on November 8, 1977, is a Brazilian Christian singer-songwriter known for his impactful contributions to contemporary Christian music. Early in his career, he worked as a backing musician for bands like Jota Quest and Jamil e Uma Noites before returning to his Protestant faith and launching his solo career. His 2009 album Na Sala do Pai brought him national recognition with hits such as "Deus da Minha Vida" and "Arde Outra Vez." In 2011, he released the live album Uma História Escrita pelo Dedo de Deus, featuring collaborations with Gabriela Rocha and André Valadão. Thalles Roberto continued to evolve musically, releasing Sejam Cheios do EspÃrito Santo in 2013, a project that stirred controversy with the song "Filho Meu." He also explored romantic themes in As Canções que Eu Canto pra Ela (2015), dedicated to his wife. After facing backlash in the gospel community for controversial statements, Thalles Roberto shifted his focus to Latin America and joined the Renascer Praise group, where he contributed to albums like Daniel (2015) and Betel (2016). 2020 saw the release of the LP Saudade, Vol. 1, which featured the track "Mesmo Sem Entender," one of his most popular songs. In 2021, he returned to his solo career with the album Luz, followed by Thalles Acústico En Vivo En Colombia (2022), Pentecostes (Ao Vivo) (2022), Adorando Entre Amigos (2023), and Deixa Vir - Vol I & II (2023). After that run, Thalles Roberto added a major award milestone in late 2024 when Deixa Vir - Vol II (Ao Vivo) won the Latin Grammy for Best Portuguese Language Christian Album, and he also appeared that year on Banda Punto de Encuentroâs âAgarra La Bendición.â In 2025 he broadened his recent catalog with the Lakewood Music Español live collaborations âTengo Victoria En Tiâ and âVencido,â then opened a new phase with Avenida do Arrependimento, a project produced by Dudu Borges and introduced in stages through the duet âAvenida do Arrependimentoâ with Jorge, the EP Avenida do Arrependimento Vol. 1, and Avenida do Arrependimento Vol. 2, before the full album arrived in July. Songs from that cycle included âChuá,â âBarquinho,â âSaudade de Você,â âBom Futuro,â âNova História,â and âPoderoso,â and the project later received year-end recognition from Billboard Brasil, while the title track was nominated in the Gospel do Ano field at the Prêmio Multishow. He also stayed visible on major faith-centered stages, appearing on the 2025 Marcha para Jesus lineup and the gospel stage at Rio Réveillon 2026. In early 2026, he returned with âSorria / Abrace / Meu Alvo,â a collaborative single with Comunidade das Nações and Dito Rodrigues.
