Biography

Fernandinho, born Fernando Jerônimo dos Santos Júnior in Aracaju, Brazil, on March 24, 1973, is a prominent Christian singer, songwriter, and pastor known for his powerful worship music and deep influence on contemporary gospel in Brazil. He began his musical journey at a young age, later studying theology and founding the Ministério Faz Chover, which became a key platform for his ministry. His debut album, Formoso És (2001), marked the start of his career, but it was Faz Chover (2003) that propelled him to national recognition, earning him a nomination for the Troféu Talento. Subsequent releases like Abundante Chuva (2005) and Sede de Justiça (2007) solidified his reputation, with the latter reaching gold and platinum status. In 2009, Uma Nova História became one of his most commercially successful albums, followed by Teus Sonhos (2012), which sold over 80,000 copies within days of its release. His acoustic project in 2014, featuring collaborations with Aline Barros and Fernanda Brum, showcased his versatility. In 2023, he received his first Latin Grammy nomination for Único, further cementing his legacy. In 2024, he was nominated for multiple Troféu Gerando Salvação awards, proving his enduring influence in Christian music.
