Biography

Terje Formoe, born Terje Falk Formoe on December 6, 1949 in Fredrikstad, Norway, is a Norwegian singer and songwriter. Educated as a schoolteacher, he began his music career in the 1970s with his first album Beske ballader og blidgjort blues (Bitter Ballads and Beautiful Blues) released in 1975. Formoe gained recognition for his song "Julius" from his 1983 album Livet er toppen! (Life is Great). In the 1990s, he became known for his plays and albums centered around the character Captain Sabertooth, including Kaptein Sabeltann og skatten i Kjuttaviga (Captain Sabertooth and the Treasure in Kjuttaviga) released in 1992. Formoe also played the title role in these productions for several years. Notable albums include Hiv o'hoi! - Kaptein Sabeltanns favoritter (2006) and Kaptein Sabeltann i Abra Havn (2012).
