Biography

Tahúres Zurdos, a Spanish rock band from Beriáin, Navarra, formed in 1987 with original members Aurora Beltrán on vocals and guitar, Manuel Lolo Beltrán on guitar, Luis Salcedo on bass, and Javier Lizarazu Puntxes on drums. The group's name translates to "left-handed gamblers," reflecting the siblings' left-handedness and their mining town roots. Their initial breakthrough came with a self-financed demo tape that later became their debut album Tahúres Zurdos. In 1988, they released their first studio album under the same name. The band's career spanned from 1987 to 2004, during which they released several notable albums, including Nieve negra (1991) and Azul (1996). In 1997, they released the album Tak, featuring a cover of Janis Joplin's "Piece of My Heart". The band disbanded in 2004 after releasing their live album 17 Años. Tahúres Zurdos reunited in 2019 for a series of concerts.
