Datuk Syafinaz Selamat, born on January 11, 1973, in Pontian District, Johor, Malaysia, is a Malaysian singer known for her versatility across various genres. She began her singing career at age seven and was recommended to join Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) talent search by her sister at nine. Syafinaz's first album, Syafinaz, was released in 1989 when she was fifteen. Her pop career took off with the release of "Ingin Bersamamu" and the album Syyh. She achieved notable success as a pop singer, including a Gold Medal in the R&B/Pop/Rock/Contemporary category during the 1999 World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Los Angeles. Syafinaz is also recognized for her classical soprano voice and has collaborated with Dennis Lau on "Mahkota" in 2009, Frank Scott Hew on "Terpesona" in 2010, and released the single "Persis Salju" in 2021.
