Syretha Olivia Smith, known as Sy Smith, is an American singer and producer. Smith was born in 1974. Smith led the go-go band In Tyme before moving to Los Angeles. In 1999, Smith signed with Hollywood Records and released the debut single âGladlyâ, which reached number 79 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The first album for Smith, Psykosoul (2000), was followed by The Syberspace Social (2005). In 2005, Smith founded the record company Psyko! Inc.. The third album Conflict (2008) included the lead single âFly Away With Meâ, which reached number 38 on the Top 40 Hot Adult R&B Chart. Smith collaborated with artists including Usher and Whitney Houston. Discography releases include the albums Fast and Curious (2012), Sometimes a Rose Will Grow in Concrete (2018), and Until We Meet Again (2024).
