Biography

Supermode, a Swedish house music duo, was formed by DJs Steve Angello and Axwell under the initial name "Supermongo." The duo produced their debut single "Tell Me Why" in 2006. The song interpolated tracks from Bronski Beat's album The Age of Consent, sampling music from "Smalltown Boy" and lyrics from "Why?", with vocals performed by Hal Ritson. Released on July 24, 2006, the track became a notable hit, reaching various charts including the UK Singles Chart, where it peaked at number 13. The band's work under the Supermode name is part of Angello and Axwell’s broader contributions to electronic music, with both later gaining prominence as members of Swedish House Mafia. While Supermode remained active primarily through this singular release, its impact on dance music remains notable.
