Biography
Sunset Rubdown was a Canadian art rock band from Montreal, formed in 2005 by Spencer Krug. The project began as a solo endeavor with Snake's Got a Leg in early 2005 and expanded into a full band featuring Camilla Wynne, Jordan Robson-Cramer, and Michael Doerksen. Their first album as a band was Shut Up I Am Dreaming, released in 2006. In 2007, they released Random Spirit Lover through Jagjaguwar, which earned Pitchfork's Best New Music distinction. The band completed tours across the UK, Europe, and the U.S., culminating in the release of Dragonslayer in 2009. Following extensive touring, they disbanded in November 2009. In December 2022, the band announced a reunion tour for spring 2023, leading to the release of their fourth album Always Happy to Explode in 2024.
