Steve Tilston, born on March 26, 1950, in Liverpool, England, is an English folk singer-songwriter and guitarist. Before turning to music in 1971, Tilston worked as a graphic designer. He recorded his first album, An Acoustic Confusion, while living in Bristol. In the early 1980s, he ran a folk club with Bert Jansch in London. Tilston released several albums throughout his career, including In For A Penny, In For A Pound (1983), and The Reckoning (2011). He formed his own record label, Run River, in 1987. Tilston's work was recognized by various artists, including Fairport Convention and Dolores Keane, who recorded his songs "The Slip Jigs and Reels" and "Night Owl", respectively. In 2012, the title track from The Reckoning won Best Original Song at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
