Biography

Steve Sidwell (born 1961) is an English arranger, composer, and trumpeter. Sidwell composed “Elements & Motion” for the 79th Academy Awards with the Hollywood SFX Chorale, which received an Emmy nomination. Sidwell orchestrated and conducted the Robbie Williams albums Swing When You're Winning (2001) and Swings Both Ways (2013). Sidwell orchestrated the stage production Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, receiving a 2015 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album and a Tony Award nomination. Sidwell contributed to film soundtracks including Romeo + Juliet (1996), Moulin Rouge! (2001), and Bridget Jones’s Diary (2001). Sidwell co-produced the 2018 film Bohemian Rhapsody and served as musical director for the television series The Voice UK. Sidwell collaborated with artists including George Michael, Amy Winehouse, Enya, and Paul McCartney. He conducted the Honda Civic Choir advertising campaign and the 2012 Summer Olympics closing ceremony.
