Biography

Steve Plunkett, born in 1953 in the United States of America, was an American singer and composer. He began his music career as a member of Autograph, a hard rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1983. The band's breakthrough came when they opened for Van Halen in 1984, leading to their debut album Sign In Please, released in October 1984 under RCA Records. The album featured the hit song "Turn Up the Radio", which became a top-30 hit and helped the album achieve gold certification (500,000 copies sold). Autograph's success continued with subsequent albums That's the Stuff (1985) and Loud and Clear (1987), though their popularity waned. The band disbanded in 1989 after leaving RCA Records and failing to secure a new deal.
