Biography

Stereo de Luxe is a German electronic music project founded in Berlin in 1994 by Karsten Wolf, who initially performed solo as a DJ. The project became part of the city's emerging lounge and club-pop scene, touring internationally across Europe and the United States alongside artists such as Le Hammond Inferno and Ursula 1000. In 1998, Wolf partnered with Thomas Mävers, also known as Tom Krimi, to form a producer duo. Their musical style transitioned toward breakbeat, house, and electro-funk. They released the debut EP Aerocyclette in 1999 and the album Glam-o-Rama in 2000. Subsequent releases included the pieces “Rennsport” and “Sexuality in the Eighties” in 2001, followed by the EP Je suis fatiguée in 2002. After a period of inactivity while Wolf relocated to London, the duo released the album Monosyllabic in 2009. Both members have also remained active in other musical bands and projects.
