Biography

Stephen Guy Simmonds, born 26 June 1975 in Täby, Sweden, is a Swedish contemporary R&B and soul singer‑songwriter. After studying at Adolf Fredrik's Music School and Södra Latin Music School, he recorded a demo with producer Peter Cartriers, leading to signings with Parlophone/EMI in the United Kingdom and Priority Records in the United States. His single "Tears Never Dry" with Lisa Nilsson in 1997 became his breakthrough hit and Simmonds released the album Alone in 1997, followed by the EP Tears Never Dry in 1998, and This Must Be Ground in 2004. The single "Where Is My Love" was featured in the 2003 Swedish film Rånarna. Subsequent releases included Anomie in 2010, and he appeared on Nâdiya’s 2008 track "Voles tes rêves" and the TV series Cirkus Möller in 2009‑2010. Simmonds has maintained a steady presence in the Swedish music scene, with several charting singles and collaborations across multiple genres.
