Steel Breeze, an American rock group from Sacramento, California, formed in the late 1970s with a lineup that included Ric Jacobs on vocals. The band took their name from a phrase in Pink Floyd's "Shine On You Crazy Diamond". Steel Breeze initially gained local success with "You Don't Want Me Anymore" under the management of John Wiseman, which caught the attention of producer Kim Fowley and attorney David Chatfield. This led to the recording of their debut album at Rusk Studios in Hollywood and a subsequent contract with RCA Records. Their self-titled debut album was released in 1982 featuring "You Don't Want Me Anymore", which peaked at number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100. The follow-up single, "Dreamin' Is Easy", reached number 30. In 1983, Steel Breeze released their second album, Heart on the Line, with a new lineup including Kevin Chalfant and Loren Haas. Despite guest appearances by Clarence Clemons and Alex Ligertwood, the album went unnoticed. The band continued to release albums, including Cry Thunder in 1989, Still Warriors in 1991, and Peace of Mind in 1994, each with different lineups. Ric Jacobs passed away on January 17, 2018, at the age of 61.
