State Faults, originally known as Brother Bear, formed in Santa Rosa, California in 2010. The post-hardcore band released their debut EP Head in the Clouds under the name Brother Bear in 2011. Shortly after, they changed their name to State Faults due to naming conflicts with other bands. Their first album as State Faults was Desolate Peaks, released through Tiny Engine Records in 2012. The band's second album, Resonate/Desperate, was released in 2013 via No Sleep Records and later received critical acclaim, being listed at number 95 on Brooklyn Veganâs top 100 punk rock and emo albums of the 2010s. In 2015, bassist Chip Kelley left the band, leading to a temporary disbandment as the remaining members focused on their side project Slow Bloom. State Faults reformed in 2019 and released their third album Clairvoyant on June 21, 2019.
