Biography

Spinetta y los Socios del Desierto, an Argentine rock band formed in 1994, was composed of Luis Alberto Spinetta on guitar and vocals, Marcelo Torres on bass, and Daniel Wirtz on drums. The group emerged during a period of significant social and economic change in Argentina, marked by the aftermath of the AMIA bombing and the "Efecto Tequila." Their debut performance took place at the Velódromo de Buenos Aires on November 18, 1994, after six months of rehearsals. The band's first album, Spinetta y los Socios del Desierto, was released in April 1997 and featured notable tracks such as "Cheques" and "Jazmín". Throughout their career, they released additional albums including Estrelicia MTV Unplugged (1997), San Cristóforo (1998), and Los ojos (1999). The band's final concert was held at the Estadio Chateau Carreras in Córdoba on November 26, 1999.
