Sonny Hennig, born Horst-Jürgen Hennig on March 4, 1946, in Mühlhausen/Thüringen, Germany, was a keyboard player, composer, and musician. He began his career with the German rock group Ihre Kinder in the early 1970s, releasing albums like Leere Hände (Empty Hands) in 1970 and 004 Jeans Album (1971). Hennig also released a solo album, Tränengas (Tear Gas), in 1972. Hennig's contributions to the music industry were recognized when he became an honorary member of MUZ - Nürnberg. He also had a career in radio, co-hosting shows at Radio Gong 97.1. Hennig published his memoirs titled Rockmanns Erzählungen (Rockmann's Stories) in March 2014. After suffering a stroke in June 2018, he passed away on August 19, 2019.
